Our Fine Gardening services focus on the health and appearance of your property, based on best practices in the green industry.

Service Options

Regularly Scheduled Visits

Whether every week, every other week, or once a month, these visits address a variety of needs from weeding, hand pruning, litter pick up, turf maintenance to irrigation.

Spring & Fall Seasonal Visits

A one-time visit in the spring and/or fall will get your landscape ready and cleaned for the upcoming season. All bed and lawn areas are raked to remove leaf buildup; weeds are manually removed from all beds; and the disposal is done off-site unless on-site composting is available. In the fall, weak limbed shrubs are tied-up to protect against snow loads and anti-desiccant is applied to evergreens as needed.

Spring & Fall Fertilization

Our fertilization program supplements the nutrients plants, shrubs, and trees need to thrive. We apply organic fertilizers that are specific to your type of plant. In the spring we also apply a pre-emergent weed preventive to help stop the growth of weeds in landscape beds.

Drip Irrigation* & Water Feature Care*

Care for your drip irrigation and/or water feature can be added to any Fine Gardening contract. We start up and/or shut down your systems. And, during regular visits, we monitor the systems to make sure water levels are accurate.

Turf Maintenance

In an effort to work green where we can, we use our electric mower to regularly maintain lawn spaces. All lawn edges are clipped. A spring and fall fertilization is included. Over-seeding is completed as needed

Mulch

Mulch provides several important functions in the landscape. It provides a finished look, helps hold in moisture, and provides nutrients to the plants as it breaks down. Mulch can be installed at any time during any of our visits. Our mulch of choice is Pine Bark Fines.

Dormant Pruning

Over the winter months trees and shrubs are dormant (i.e. not producing any new growth) and this makes it a perfect time to prune. The structure of the plant is clear which makes corrective and rejuvenating pruning much easier. We prune shrubs and trees up that are 15 feet in height or shorter following proper horticultural techniques specific to each species. This service is over and above pruning winter damage on shrubs and trees in the spring. Depending on the plants in your landscape, this can be done each year.
